dsmHack is a not-for-profit organization working to elevate and strengthen the community by building software, learning from each other and giving back. The organization centers around the idea of “Build.Learn.Give.”, which includes building technology solutions and relationships throughout the community, learning new skills or thought processes and giving time and skills to nonprofits who need, but cannot afford it.
We envision a community where technology is never a barrier to doing good.
Create opportunities to connect local nonprofit organizations and technologists to cultivate organizational and individual growth.
Nonprofit organizations have a variety of technical needs and dsmHack helps address these needs by providing programs and outreach opportunities.
Des Moines Charity Hack: The flagship event of the year where area technologists partner with selected area nonprofits to solve technical problems in a 48-hour hackathon. Learn more about the hack.
Workshops: dsmHack is building a program of free workshops for local nonprofit professionals to help overcome issues they may face. Have an idea for a workshop? Let us know!
Office Hours: Recurring open “office hours” will be held to allow nonprofits to come and ask technical questions. Subscribe to our email list to be the first to know when we launch office hours.
