When: Thursday, March 22 – Saturday, March 24, 2018
Where: FFA Enrichment Center – DMACC Ankeny Campus
Each year, dsmHack holds a 48-hour hackathon to help local nonprofit organization solve their technology problems. This flagship event connects technology enthusiasts including developers, designers, and project managers and partners them with nonprofits selected through an application process.
We have a new location! The FFA Enrichment Center on the DMACC Ankeny Campus will turn into dsmHack headquarters for 48 hours.
The atmosphere of dsmHack is unlike any other. The weekend kicks off on Thursday evening, with technology professionals and nonprofit representatives arriving early in the evening. Each nonprofit organization will have a few minutes to introduce their technology challenge to the participants, and from there, teams will form to address the needs of the organizations. Once teams are formed, the hacking begins!
For 48 hours, participants and organizations will hack their hearts out, solving technology problems, learning new skills, and building friendships. At Des Moines Charity Hack, the doors don’t close. All participants are free to come and go as they please with meals, snacks, and beverages provided. The event culminates on Saturday with a presentation and celebration of what each team accomplished.
dsmHack envisions a community where technology is never a barrier to doing good. Join us as we hack for good and solve technology problems for nonprofits doing amazing things in our community.
Applications will be open for 501c3 organizations in January. Application dates announced soon.
We’re looking for individuals with a variety of skill sets to contribute their time and talents to our selected nonprofits. Registration will open January 22, 2018. Find out how you can help.
