No Hackathon in 2021

For the first time in seven years, the dsmHack Hackathon is cancelled due to concerns over increasing rates of COVID-19 infections in Iowa.

Those who have attended past hacks know, the atmosphere is everything. You can feel the buzz in the air when you bring together nonprofits and developers from across the state to solve technology problems AND support the tireless work of local organizations making a difference in Iowa. Without absolute capabilities of ensuring a safe working environment for the teams, the dsmHack board made the difficult decision not to move forward with the annual hack.

As a non-profit organization ourselves, the dsmHack board will take this opportunity to work on some things internally- update systems and processes, recruit new board members and reach out to past participants to check in during these difficult times. Keep up with things via social media platforms and feel free to reach out to the board with any questions.

Stay tuned for more information to come about future hacks and opportunities to get connected.
