Kyle Conway {At-Large Director}

Kyle holds a PhD in Fine Arts, an MA in Theatre, and a BA double major in Management (i.e. Business) and Theater. So, naturally, for the last 10+ years, he's worked at non-profits focused on jail diversion, rehab, and child abuse prevention, doing everything from grants, data, curriculum, fundraising, web development, marketing, graphic design, kid books, state conferences, national program management, and orchestrating month-long, state-wide campaigns with hundreds of partners… among other things.

Philosophically, Kyle believes in free and open source software, is an 18+ year desktop Linux user, financially supports the development of the open source design tool Inkscape, and uses these Libre tools in his design work. He has contributed the default desktop wallpaper for several Fedora Linux releases. He has been involved with PyConUS as a writer/performer of an original work as well as a director of an original play for the conference. He delivered a tongue-in-cheek talk at PyOhio concerning how easy it is to become a software developer an artist… among other things.

To quote a former co-worker: “Kyle has a broad and uncommon combination of skills and interests… He is excellent at communicating complex concepts to others across a broad range of media.”

He likes tea. His website is kylerconway.com
